The Datai Pledge is our commitment to protecting the natural heritage and culture of Langkawi. All our films were shot in and around Datai Bay and Langkawi island to raise awareness of our initiatives and the work of our NGO and social enterprise partners in preserving the spectacular biodiversity and supporting the welfare of the local community.
We are indebted to the support of S.C. Shekar who has worked with us pro bono to photograph the wildlife and people behind The Datai Pledge. Shekar has also gifted us the use of his photos of Langkawi, which he has documented throughout the years. Thank you also to the award-winning photographer Sanjitpaal Singh for the wildlife images contributed and to MareCet for the valuable footage and images of dolphins photographed in Malaysia.

The natural splendour surrounding The Datai Langkawi - the sea, mangrove and rainforest, as well as the magnificent wildlife and plants that reside there, provide the perfect backdrop for this film that celebrates the initiatives under each pillar and a few of the many people who contribute towards making this ambitious programme a reality.
